Holiday Camps
During the summer holidays, kids unwind and take a break from school. The parents, however, don’t get nearly as much time off and get to spend only a portion of those summer days vacationing with the whole family. This leaves the kids with so much free time, they can’t find something interesting to do.
We know this is difficult for both sides, but the situation can be fixed. While school may be out for summer, learning can definitely be in! MintED has prepared a special series of educational courses that feel like a real summer club: Welcome to Holiday Camps, where children gain practical knowledge while having a blast.
It feels like a Summertime STEM Club
Our Holiday Camps are weekly programs that feature daily open-air activities with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – STEM. Art is also included in our programs, as we nurture creative thinking and artistic endeavors, making sure that all children have the opportunity to explore their unique talents.
Each program unit typically lasts for one week (Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM). During this time students will work in teams on engaging, challenging, and fun group projects. It will feel like a summertime club, but will be so much more than that.
Activities suited for different age groups
Holiday Camps are customised for two major age groups: ages 6 to 11 and 11 to 14. All activities are modelled according to the ability of each group, which ensures that the content is best suited for their level of comprehension. Customised workshops will keep the children busy and now allow them to become bored because they will discover cutting-edge technology and how to use it.
Most importantly, they won’t just be staring at a screen. They will also spend time outside – enjoying the fresh air and meeting new friends, whilst learning how to design a robot, build a machine prototype or perhaps open their minds to programming. What a cool way to spend the summer!
Robotics and coding projects for engineers of the future
At robotics and coding workshops, students will dive into the captivating world of electronics, mechanical engineering, and coding. No prior experience is necessary because MintED’s program will introduce them to the basics, while enabling the students to further explore these areas to their full potential. We provide our students with the hi-tech tools they need, and enable them to become the ‘inventors’!
All programs are carefully guided by our expert educators. The participants are supervised at all times, ensuring their safety as they create and program the machines they had envisioned. They will have several types of bots at their disposal: Probots, Beebots, and Mbots – all of which will allow them to learn engineering and coding.
Turn gamers into game developers and software engineers
Children love video games, that is a known fact. Well, if not all, then at least the vast majority. While playing video games might turn into a time-wasting activity, in some cases it can lead to a promising IT career. MintED encourages our students to think about how these video games are produced and we will demonstrate this through 3D Computer Game Design Workshops.
programmers are introduced to Scratch and Alice, whilst those who already know the basics can also work with Python and Godot. When given the knowledge base and the tools required to design a video game, students are thrilled to learn software development and begin creating something of their own. Before you know it, your child could grow up to become the next expert game designer!
